Roman Cavalry Come To Hadrian’s Wall

‘Turma Hadrian’s Cavalry Charge’ will take over the historic site, with 150 miles of the national park being transformed for a packed weekend of performances and cavalry exercises. You’ll also get the chance to meet some of the re-enactors and see some of their amazing period costumes up close, and be transported back more than two and a half thousand years ago.

This event is definitely one for the whole family and they’ll also be a host of thrilling exhibitions, crafts, food and drink stalls to get involved in. Chair of the Hadrian’s Cavalry steering group Bill Griffiths, said: “This is a rare chance to see the Roman cavalry in action …The cavalry would regularly perform exercises to illustrate their skill and prowess” reported Chronicle Live.

The Roman Cavalry are the archetypal roman soldier, known for their decorated armour and helmet, so it’s sure to be a real spectacle!
